DH said he'd like to go to Turks and Caicos in 2011 instead of Disney :scared1:

Can anyone recommend a hotel at Grace Bay?

your DH sounds wonderful. :)

I think you have a choice between luxury and not as luxurious. I'd go with Grace Bay Club.

We have not been personally but our neighbors stay at The Regent Palms and love it. They checked out Beaches for us (next to the property where they stayed) and said they liked it and would consider staying there in the future with their family, that is was very nice.

Seven Stars is a nice resort and of course Beaches can't be beat IMO.

I have stayed at the Somerset at Grace Bay and at Beaches when my son was little. It depends what you are looking for. The beach is amazing anywhere along Grace Bay so that is not a huge consideration.

Beaches is REALLY busy. This can be fun and there are tons of activities to do. But the food is included and is really mediocre, compared to some other places on the island. It is a great place with kids as there is non-stop action. We never left the resort as there was so much to do here.

The Somerset was much more laid back. We had a beachfront room with a full kitchen. The grocery store on the island is really good and comparable to a US grocery store so we enjoyed stocking some of our own food and cocktails. Non-motorized watersports were included. We rented a car here and explored more of the island and I liked that.

So - it depends what you are looking for. You will never see a beach much more beautiful then Grace Bay!

Thanks!! The Somerset sounds more like 'our speed'.

If you want to see the most beautiful resort in the world, check out Amanyara while you are there. It is a crazy drive and you think you are lost - but OMG! http://www.amanresorts.com/amanyara/picturetour.aspx

I think the rooms are like $5,000 a night. But they will let you walk the property and gawk at the celebs. Amazing place.

Our favorite restaurant was Lemon Tree and we also enjoyed the conch safari.

We considered going to the Turks & Caicos awhile back and a friend of mine recommended the The Tuscany. They stayed there back in '06 and loved it.

She also said not to miss Hemingways and Aqua - for the Conch!!!

Have Fun!!

I was going to post the same thing today!! I am really liking what I see and am pretty eager to set up a trip there. I was seriously looking at the Windsong resort, I see great reviews for it on tripadvisor.com.

I did a sight inspection at Beaches in June. Overall my impressions was positive. The pristine waters are spectacular. The food and dining options are outstanding. I love the areas broken into different sections. The French Village was my favorite. So much to do for kids you may find them when its times to collect them and head home.:rotfl: The Italian Village was second and The Caribbean Village was incredible if a suite location is available.

Overall - Loved Beaches Turks and Caicos! Water that is just amazing.:beach::boat::sail::sunny:

The ocean in T&C is the most dazzling turquoise I've ever seen. It is, no question, my favorite Caribbean island. Enjoy!
