Can you tell me about Teppan Edo?

A side note: Those of you who drive down from anywhere up north, you can stop at a place called "Shoki" right off of I-75 in Macon, GA. We stop there almost every time on the way home! 4 us can eat with tip and a lot more food for about $95 (including the soup and salad which are included at every hibachi place except Teppan Edo!!)

When we took DS in march, we also got a Mickey onion in addition to the volcano . DS thought that was the best and told his Nanny all about it on the phone the next day (and told how my DH didn't take a picture of it so he is no longer in charge of the camera). We have places like this here at home, but we love it, so we plan to go on every trip. And it's great for picky eaters!

Well, it sounds like most posters really enjoy this restaurant and I've added it to my ADR's! Thanks so much for all of your input, it was very helpful! We do not have anything very nearby here for this type of place, so it will be fun to try! And the food, especially the filet and shrimp(saw pic on a food report, lol) looks and sounds really delicious! The Mickey onion sounds cool, too, even if I am old, lol!

I'm a bit apprehensive about the sitting and all, but then again we end up talking to people all the time anyway so it should be fine. I hope we get a fun and enteraining chef who cooks up some delicious food, mmmm!

We have reservations here in December and I have a question. We are a party of 9 (4 adults 5 children). I read in the above posts that you are seated at a table of 8. Will they be able to squeeze us all in at one table? Thanks!

no fried rice

To be fair, the only restaurant in Japan that you would find fried rice, would be a Chinese restaurant. So I can see why it isn't served! The noodles are way better in my opinion. Between us we tried the chicken, shrimp and the beef, really good.

The seating is fine. I cheated and sat on the end near the chef, so it was my DH that was next to the other family. They were very friendly, I'm sure they must have been a DIS family as they were really nice. They had some food allergy issues, I can't remember exactly what, but the chef was very good at making sure their food was prepared first. I was glad DH & me had shared an appetizer, because my rumbling tummy might have been a major distraction for other guests!

This was the second place we made our dinner reservations this time around.

We love Teppan Eddo! They are very similar to Benihana, but they are much better. Their level of service is out standing! We had them on our last night there, after we'd be walking through epcot all day. The fire works were about to go off (which my son was then scared of), and no place had open reservations.

Teppan Eddo took us in anyway (we did have a wait). The waitstaff was amazingly friendly and understanding

I too am glad to hear all of the positive reviews about Teppan Edo. It seems that a lot of the restaurant choices I have made, there are not a lot of pretty reviews on. I too added this ADR to my list of already made ADRs because we were looking for another restaurant for one of our EPCOT days, and since my DH loves Japanese steakhouses to begin with, and we don't go to any around our house, I thought this would be perfect for him. I too also saw the filet and shrimp from over at the Food Porn site and my mouth was drooling....so I know what I am going to get. I do have one question....my girls are 8 and 6, what would everyone suggest they try off of the kids menu. They do love shrimp, as long as it is breaded, so I am guessing the teryaki chicken would be good, but if there is any other suggestions please let me know.

My DS had the kids chicken teryaki, which he enjoyed. He did end up stealing a lot of my food too! I think if we went back I would probably get him his own adult portion (OOP). He's on his last year of being charged as a child anyway. I don't know if it's still served this way, but the kids meal came in a really cool little bullet train dish. I found in Japan that they do a very nice job of presenting kid's meals, so this was a lovely touch they had at Teppan Edo.
