can you tell me about pixel chix please?

so my neice just decided she wanted pixel chix for christmas. what are these things and are they any good? i saw a yellow one at tru and it looks like plastic junk to me but what do i know? soooo, what do these things do, do they work well, are they any good?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Just ordered one for my dd. I was expecting it to be really big (like a laptop size). Imagine my surprise when amazon delivered it and I saw it was like 4 inches x 4 inches or so. !! Supposedly it's a big hot gift this year. I don't know! I'm just Santa's helper!

I bought one for my daughter for christmas and her cousin bought her 2 but I am not even sure what they are all about yet...guess I will find out on Christmas! I was also surprised at the size...I was looking all over the toy store for it and the guy says "oh they are right here" and they were hanging up and pretty small for 25.00

I can't tell you much about them but my dd is getting one for Christmas. It is on Family Fun magazines list of top toys for this Christmas.

No - but there is supposed to be some way of "hooking" them together (different houses) so the occupants can converse back and forth..

My DD considered getting these for my granddaughter, but they're pretty much out of stock everywhere here.. After hearing on this thread how small they are though (for the price) I guess it's just as well she didn't find them..

I don't know much about them either but DD and my Niece are each getting one for Xmas - They both really wanted one so I bought my niece one and SIL bought my DD one - they will exchange them on Xmas Eve. I want to see how they work when they are hooked together - LOL

I am not sure what the fact that they are small are has to do with how good of a toy it is? They are like human versions of Tamagotchis/Virtual pets, of course they would be small. I think it's good they are small, then they are good to take in the car or somewhere else to keep them occupied.

I don't think it's so much that they're "small" (so is a Gameboy), but more that they look very cheaply made and easy to break - chintzy plastic.. If buying two (so they can be hooked together) you're talking $50 or better for something that appears not to be durable at all..
