We have a reservation for august at SSR that we used incentive points for when we purchased DVC last august. We would really like to stay at AKV (our home resort) but when I called there were no 2-bedrooms available. (at the time I had less than the 11-month window) If I called and there was now a 2-bedroom available for our time, could they just switch the reservation?

I am a long-time WDW visitor but new to all this DVC stuff! :)

TIA!

They wouldn't switch so much as cancel the SSR ressie and make a new AKV ressie if available.

If you used/are using developer/incentive points there are a couple of things to know: make sure you tell the MS CM that you're using them, make sure you make any changes/cancel before you hit the 31 day mark. Incentive points can't be banked or put in holding. Incentive pts don't have a home resort, can only be used at the 7mth point. No waitlisting with incentive points, so you'll need to keep calling to make a change if it becomes available.

We had no problem cancelling our reservation at BCV last year and then immediately booking for the same days at BWV. Don't ask why we made the switch...:headache:
