This next trip the kids and I are taking my mom (their grammy) and my sister and her two kids. They have 3 day park hoppers so they will take advantage of Magical morning. We have Ap's so no MM for us.

I thought I'd take my kids over to Soarin while the others are doing MM. Can we get in and ride a half hour early?

Yes, DCA typically opens at around 9:30 am and Soarin is the only ride open during that first half hour until official park opening at 10 am. The Soarin FP machines are on at 9:30 as well.

Thanks! Now I"ve got a plan at least so that my kids have something to do while they wait out MM.

So is it normal for DCA to open a half hour earlier than posted times? Is that when you are let into Disneyland too? I still haven't gotten my timing right on when to get there. I would rather aim for just before they let people start to go in rather than standing in line.

Yes, they normally open 30 min early with the only ride open during that time being Soarin. They have ropes set up so you can't go into the other areas until the park officially opens at 10.

I prefer to stand in line the first 30 minutes of the day at the turnstiles in order to help be ahead of the crowds and not stand in any other lines that day.

If you want to do Toys Story Mania, I wouldn't ride Soarin' first. Folks start lining uip at GRR to be walked over to TSM. We got our FP for Soarin' then got in line for TSM. Don;t know if that is your plan but I thought I would FYI for those who are planning. There have been many reports of folks getting on Soarin' before openind and getting off 10 minutes after park opening an the line is crazy at TSM. If you are there in the low crowd time it may not be so bad. We were there the Friday before T'giving which is historically lower crowds

I was the 4th person to enter Soarin and on the first ride of the day. I then went right over to Grrr to get ready for rope drop. I walked at a normal pace and went right over to TSMM and was the only person in the single rider line. I got on within 2 minutes. People who "ran" ahead of me were getting on after me. I went around and got back in the single rider (again no one else was in this line) and rode it again. By 10:15ish I had already done Soarin and TSMM twice. You can do both and not wait forever.
