Can You Shrink Crocs If They're Too Big?

If you put them thru the dishwasher, will they shrink?? Or the dryer? They're just too WIDE and they come off my daughter's feet. She has the Caymans and I read they are narrower than Beach. She has normal feet, NOT narrow feet. It's just that Crocs are so enormous to begin with...but she needed the length she has so her toes didn't touch. Frustrating!

I'm pretty sure that won't happen, but let us know what the outcome is!

Airwalks shrink though I can't say to size. My daughter left one of her Airwalks on the heating grate (we have forced hot air) and that shoe shrunk to half it's size and got hard! Not a happy girl when she found out what had happened but she learned an important lesson!

I have heard of people on other boards saying that they put them in the dryer for about 5 minutes and it shrunk them. Check over on the Buget boards and that is where I read this.

I tried it, they actually grew! I put them in the dryer for 5 mintues. First of all, 5 mintues is too long. My dryer stopped going, thank God after about 3 minutes. One of the Crocs was stuck on the dryer itself. I had to slowly pry it off. As I did that, it pulled and by pulling .. it stretched it... once I wore them, it went back to my size so it was ok. I have yet to shrink a pair. I have heard that people have left them out in the heat and they have shrunk. I live in SW Fl and left mine out.. they did not shrink.. My Disney Croc's are big. The Beach style tend to run bigger than the Cayman. Had I realized that when I ordered them, I would have gotten the next size down. I wear a 7 1/2 or an 8 depending on the type of shoe. For Croc's I had been getting 8's. Well for the Beach style..they are 8-9.. and they are just a little too loose for me. I will still wear them, but would much rather them a little smaller.

I would say definitely not, but they would be nice and clean...

oh, NO ONE EAT AT KATEM'S HOUSE!!!! :)

Yes, you can shrink Crocs. I know someone who left theirs in their car on a hot day and they shrank. I also seem to remember people putting them in the oven, on a cookie pan, for a few miniutes an that shrank them??

I don't know about the shrinking, but Ive never been able to wear Crocs because they were too wide for my foot(and my foot isnt narrow), but the new maryjane version is much narrower, not as bulky either.

Im currently trying to convince myself to buy them. I tried them on at Dicks yesterday, asked my husbands opinion on which color to get and his resonse was that it wouldnt matter cause both were horrid looking. Wah!

I still don't think you can shrink molded plastic. Either there would have to be air in between the molecules like a cushy pair of flip flops which there isn't or you would have to have super powers and be able to compress the molecules.

At best you are merely melting them with unknown results. Maybe put them on and try a hairdryer on them but anything more than that and I'd be prepared to go spend another $30.

Put em in the oven....Be sure to put a pan underneath to catch the "drippings" so you can rebaste.:rotfl2:

I can remember talking once to a sales rep for the company who told me that your foot should have a 1/2 inch space surrounding it. The strap holds your foot in so they don't fall off of your foot but nothing else should be touching the foot.

I ran my wife's Crocs through the dishwasher, and yes. They shrank. Not sure how much, or if they stretched back after wearing them for a bit - but they did shrink.
