Can you ship a package to a standard hotel?

Our family is going to SoCal for two weeks this summer. For cost reasons, we are hoping to keep our car rental to a full size sedan instead of a van, but I'm concerned about space. For a very minimal cost, we can ship a box out there and not have to worry about the space. However, I've never tried to do this. Anyone ever ship a package with travel items? We will be staying in SD at a chain hotel for a few days before we arrive at DLR. Anyone know if a regular chain hotel will receive a package like this? Any suggestions.thoughts would be very helpful.

I've never done it but I've heard of people doing it. The best thing to do is let the hotel know in advance you are doing this and make sure they will accept it on your behalf. If they will, you can ask them what info they will require to be written on the box. I've heard of people putting in their reservation/confirmation number on the box right next to their name, also their check in date, etc. I would defiinitely call the hotel front desk and ask them if they will accept it though. I recently read a TR in which a person had a wheelchair delivery set up and the hotel refused to accept delivery of that because they didn't want to be responsible for it. (It was an off-site hotel.) I'm pretty sure the DL resort hotels would probably accept it but again, call and ask them what info they need on the box.
