Can you sell back Disney Dollars?

Can you take back Disney Dollars to the store if you have the reciept? I want to make sure just in case something happens before our trip. TIA April

you can return disney dollars back to the disney store with a receipt.
But it would be easyer if you just got up to a vender in the parks before you leave and ask them if you can exchange your money, Or if your staying on property, go to the front desk and apply them towards your room bill

Alot of us buy disney dollars with the change we save, this way we know we will have that money when we go to WDW. Since you can not use them any where else you are not tempted to fritter away your spending money.
Once we plan a trip I always put disney dollars in the kids birthday cards, easter baskets, christmas stocking etc. This way they have their spending money too.

Thanks jimmybop...I needed to know if something comes up and we can't go on our trip. I've been buying a few to give to my kids and to use for special meals at DW. I wish I could put some in their baskets but they don't know about the trip. SHHH!! It's a surprise!!! April

You can also sell them back without a receipt, or you can use them to purchase items in the Disney Store if you wish.

you can sell them back at the parks without a receipt.... You must have a receipt if you wish to just return them to the disney store, but yes, you can use them to buy items at TDS too

I just wanted to update my reply...

As of May 2nd, 2004, Disney Dollars can no longer be returned at the Disney Store. You may still use these to buy things at the store.

What happens if you buy something for $9.45, and give them $10 in Disney Dollars? Do you get $.55 back in 'real' change?

Yes you can "real"US Currency back in change. You could buy a $.25 piece of candy and you will get $9.75 back in US currency (assuming you used $10 Disney Dollar)
