can you see...

When we were there last August, at Port Orleans Riverside, a bunch of us were in the parking lot. It was awesome. It gave me goose pimples, don't know why but it just did. It was great how many of us showed up, unplanned.

I'm guessing that you can see it from alot of places around disney. We stayed at AKL in 2008. I knew when they were supposed to launch the shuttle, we stood in the parking lot and had a GREAT view of it. It really was amazing to see.

awesome! Thanks. we'll get up early on the 5th to catch a view of the Discovery! :cool1:

We've been in the WDW area for 2 launches; one we did see on the highway- all the sudden there was a huge white trail in the sky. The second time we were looking all over around launch time and didn't see anything at all.

Yup, it was very cool in the middle of the night how well you can see it. Then in November 2008 we saw it about 6pm from the world showcase. You can easily see it but night is much more impressive.

We watched Atlantis from AKL savannah overlook by the pool (we could have watched it from our balcony!)

Yes you can see the launch. We too, saw it last August from our Disney resort balcony. There were so many other guests out on their balconies watching it too. Bright and early it was!

We saw a launch in Nov 2008 in the evening while at POR. It was a party out there - tons of people standing around looking up at the sky.
