I have a dilema now. I have a 8pm reservation for Ohana on a night where wishes is showing at 8pm. So, I am thinking I will change my Ohana PS for 6pm. So, the question is, should we go back to MK or can we see it from the Poly?? I want a good view, but, I dont want to watch it while eating. Transportation isnt an issue because we will have our car available if needed.
Any input would be appreciated!!!

Yes, you can see them from the Poly beach. It's not the same as seeing them from inside the MK -- that's more of show, while seeing it from outside the park is basically just watching fireworks.

Your car won't help much if I'm understanding you, since you can't drive any closer to the MK than the poly anyway.

If you eat at 6:00 and finish by 7:30 or so, you should be able to get to the MK in plenty of time to see wishes from inside the park. Otherwise, you could just go right down to the beach and watch from there.

Yes, you can get a view of wishes from O'Hana's. They dim the lights and pipe the music in. The better Poly view in my opinion is the beach at the Poly.

We've watched fireworks over MK from the Poly beach many times. You can even grab a post meal fruity drink at the pool bar. If you stick around you get a nice view of the electric water parade.

We did not like the view from the beach at the Poly. We ate at O'hana and would've had plenty of time to make it to MK to see the fireworks. We decided to lounge on the beach chairs and relax instead. I wish we would've we to MK. It was a much better experience from inside the park! I would recommend trying to make it to MK!:D

Here's one photo I took of Wishes from the Polynesian beach:

I enjoy the view from the sand. It is a very different experience watching from the peaceful, quiet distance of the Polynesian and watching from the adrenaline laden middle of Main Street USA... I enjoy both, but very different.

If you are going to have more than one opportunity to view Wishes, I would recommend watching once from inside the MK & once from the Poly Beach. We did both just last week & you get a much different perspective of it from the beach...you get an idea of how big those fireworks really are like that pic above shows. But, if you can only view once, I'd do it from inside the MK because you get the whole experience with the music & everything right there. Whatever way you decide, it is breathtaking & certainly a bit of Disney magic. :wizard:

I agree with previous poster-if you do not have the opportunity to see Wishes from inside MK, then by all means GET INTO MK. Otherwise, I personally do not like all of the running around to see the fireworks. If I am at Ohanas I will stay there and watch from the restaurant. Its 's great how they dim the lights and everything inside the restaurant stops so you can be a part of the firework magic from your dinner seat!!(Or at the very least make it to the beach.)

Enjoy!! We had a great time at Ohanas last Feb. It was funny watching the big kids(ie. DH and 17yr. old nephew) competing against the little ones in the coconut races.

When we arrived to Orlando last month, we ate at the Kona Cafe for dinner, when we finished eating, we walked over to the huge picture windows and watched Wishes, it is not my ideal idea of watching it but they had the soundtrack playing and it was a perfect beginning to our trip. When the fireworks were over, we went back to the restaurant and ate a scrumptious desert. It was a perfect way to start our trip, but if this is going to be the only time you see wishes during your trip, I would do it in Mk, if not then on the Poly beach or even indoors is pretty magical.

We ate at O'hana last May and I made the PS so that we would have time to stroll down to the beach in time for the fireworks. We loved watching them from there!! After dinner we made our way down to the beach with about a half hour to spare. When we got onto the sand we found many empty chairs so we grabbed two and had the BEST seats in the house and had a great view of the water parade after!!!
