My Parents just got 3 - 5 Day Park Hoppers but due to health issues they want to change over to an AP - so they can go in for few hours and not lose a whole day. They will be there for 2 weeks.

They had planned on going in every other day to have a day of rest but now my mother is not sure can handle more than a few hours.

My question is can they take them back to the disney store (all unused) and trade them in toward the purchase of an AP. Or do they have any other options.

Returns of park tickets can not be made at the disney store (the registers are not set up for the returns of tickets)... but I'm 90% sure that you can do this at the parks.

Because you're "trading up" -- that is, upgrading your five-day hoppers to APs -- you can do this, yes. However, it needs to be done at Disney when you arrive. You can do upgrades at Guest Relations in any of the parks (takes a few minutes), or at your resort, if you're staying on property. They will, obviously, have to pay the difference between the hopper price and the AP price.

It cannot be done at the resorts since they do not sell AP's there. It has to be done at Guest Relations.

Geniegirl,

As others have indicated, your parents should have no trouble trading their hoppers for APs.

It must be done at Guest Relations at one of the parks (or the TTC or Downtown Disney.)

They will apply the value of any unused days on the hopper toward the full purchase price of the AP, and your parents will just pay the difference.

I hope they have a magical trip!
