Can you request a specific loop?

I was wondering if you can (and should?) request a specific loop in Fort Wilderness? We will have a trailer. Is there a big difference in pricing? I'm just thinking about how far we could potentially be from the boat lunch, Trail's End, the petting zoo, swimming pool, etc... So much to consider! If you think we should request a loop, which one do you recommend?

You can certainly request a loop and even a specific site. Disney doesnt guarantee it though. They will do thier best to accomadate you though. I request certain sites and 95% of the time get them. There is a fax request floating around here somewhere that you can fax in the day before you arrive that helps as well.

Thank you! Which loops do you recommend requesting?

Depends on what you are looking for. Loops 100, 200, 400 and 700 are great due their proximity to the Settlement. A short walk in the morning and evening without having to get on an internal bus from the boat launch. These are among the "preferred" loops. All are full hook-up with cable and free internet access (using a modem you have to provide a refundable deposit for)

However, loops closer to the pool are nice as well, such as 900 - 1300. This allows you to walk to the pool and Meadows Trading Post. These are also "Premium" loops because they are larger and have a paved patio on each site. These also are full hook-up with cable & internet.

You will get as many opinions on what the best loops is as there are loops. :) Everyone has their personal preference. For us, proximity to the pool was most important because we don't rent a golf cart and don't like getting on an air conditioned bus after being in the pool.

Check out the All Ears site for pretty detailed info:

It has all the info you should need to make the right decision for your family.

400 and 700 are Premium loops with the larger concrete pads, not "preferred" by Disney definition. 1400 is another premium loop and is right next to the Meadows campfire rea, and therefore close to the pool, trading post, etc.

.....And there hasn't been a petting zoo for many years.

We always request the back side of the 800 loop due to the large open area behind the sites. Our kids have a lot of room to run around and play back there.

We always fax our site/loop request 4-5 days before we arrive and we've always gotten at least one of the sites or loops we've requested. We usually ask for two specific site numbers, and then one or two specific loops in case those aren't available.
