Can you recommend a little camera for my DH?

I'm thinking of getting DH his own small point and shoot for Father's Day (nothing like planning ahead, right? ;) ) Anyway, I already have a Canon 20D and a Fuji FinepixV10. I often have the little camera tucked in my purse or stashed in my car, so DH doesn't always have access to it. That's why I'm thinking about getting him his own little camera. I looked at a few today and I don't know what to get. When he takes pics, they are mostly outdoor shots, I think he'd really prefer a SMALL camera that he can tuck into a pocket, probably doesn't need a ton of zoom, etc. We already have XD, SD and CF cards in the house, so any of those would be good. I don't care which kind of batteries it uses, just that they last for a decent amount of time. Anything else you need to know? Any recommendations?

Oh yeah, that new Olympus that shoots underwater looks really cool to me, but I haven't read any reviews on it. And, it seems a little pricey. I was thinking something in the $200-$250 range, but if the reason is compelling, I could be convinced to spend more.

We have had a Nikon S210 for about a month and are happy so far. There are old versions of the waterproof Oly and Pentax models that go for a little over $200.

I've had the Olympus 850SW for a couple of months now and just got back from a cruise last week. This was my first time to give it a good workout. I also bought a Pentax DSLR so the Oly was used mostly at the beach and pools. I had no problems with it other than it's kind of hard to see the screen in bright daylight. But you just click more than you think you need then scroll through the pics later and delete the bad ones. I just posted a few pics this AM from this camera. I think they turned out pretty good. We will play with it more underwater at the local pool soon. I went to the store and tried it and the Pentax out to see how they felt. The Pentax felt better to me but the Oly is also shockproof from 5 ft and I have a 6yo DGD who wanted to take pics, too. So far, I have been very pleased with it. Some of the reviews have been just awful, with leaking and such and I was scared but I bought it anyway. Glad I did!

My Dh desparately wants the Olympus 770 SW. They had a great review of it in his off-road magazine and he was very impressed. I need to say that I already owned it at the time but I guess he had to read for himself. They did some real damage to it in the article, or tried to anyways, and rated it high and easy to use. I told my DH he could have mine when he bought me a new one. I want the 1030 SW for myself. He has used my 770 and I was just looking at it on Ebay for a father's day gift.

I have a Canon SD1100 IS and love it. Nice and small but easy to use, even with bigger fingers. Clear photos, good battery life, $249 retail. HTH
