I Am trying to decide which will be the best resort to stay this time does anyone have a place they prefer for any special reasons?

If the thread runs long enough, you will get a recommendation for every DVC resort. All have their fans for various reasons.

Better to start your question with some background about YOU and your party for the trip.

What parks do you think you might concentrate on?
How many people are going? What are their ages and relationships to one another (relatives, nuclear family, extended family, friends).
Any particular type of decor you especially don't like or like?
Will you have a car or be relying on Disney transportation?

Answers to those types of things would help you get good advice that fits your situation.

This is a very broad question. You need to narrow down your wants and needs. Do you want to be close to a park? Do you want to have monorail access? Do you love animals and don't mind being farther away from MK and Epcot? Do you want to be close to DTD? Do you want the newest built? A studio with two beds instead of a bed and pull out sofa? Resort that requires the lowest points?

All DVC resorts are wonderful and offer something unique and we love the different resorts for what they offer. However, GF for us would be a dream stay. It requires more points which would mean a shorter visit for us.

With small kids, nothing beats BLT for the walk to MK. If you are not park commandos, the amenities at AKV can match up against any resort. If you love downtown disney, SSR may well be perfect for you. We prefer different resorts for different trips, but mainly blt.

Are you looking to stay at Walt Disney World specifically? Or just any DVC resort? Much more information is required before anyone could give you a decent answer to your question.

We are a family of 6 with three adults and an 8 year old boy , 12 year old girl , and a 16 year old boy our home resort is Animal Kingdom but I think it might be full during the time we want to go during Jan 14- 21 we need room for everyone to be comfortable . The kids are my siblings and I am 22 , my parents will also be traveling with us so a total of six. We love the monorail but we can ride a bus or a boat . I hope this helps

If you're talking about this upcoming January 2015 and AKV is already full, you may just want to get on the member site and look for what's available first!

I haven't stayed at any of the other villa resorts I was asking for people's opinions on them.

Since AKV is one of the larger resorts, if it's full, you'll probably be most likely to find availability at OKW and SSR.

Honestly, unless you have very specific location preferences, or need a certain sleeping arrangement (two beds in a studio at OKW, for example), or want a certain kind of transportation (boat, monorail, etc), other people's opinions aren't going to help a whole lot. There's no "best" DVC resort, or "bad" DVC resort. Outside of theming and location, the differences between resorts are mostly a matter of personal preference.

Read about each of the resorts, either on wdwinfo.com or allearsnet.com, and pick the one that sounds most appealing to your family. The great thing about becoming a DVC member is that eventually, you'll get to try them all.

I'm sorry, you probably feel like we're not being very helpful. :) It's just a hard question to answer, because we all have our own tastes and preferences.

I know there are some people here who feel like OKW is their home-away-from home and they don't want to stay anywhere else. Every single resort has members who feel that way.

I've stayed in nearly all of the resorts by now, and my reasoning in choosing a resort has gone like this...

1. I take into account the personalities of the people who are joining me. Some like being close to the action (BWV, BLT), some like a quieter location (OKW).

2. If I'm going to be visiting friends who live in the area, I go with VWL because it's geographically closest to their homes.

3. If I'm focusing on a particular park, that becomes the deciding factor. I did F&W one year. Spent three days in the World Showcase, so I went with BWV.

4. Other than that, it's pure whim. Whatever resort appeals to me at that moment.

That's why it's so hard for us to recommend a resort for your trip. We don't know your families' personalities, we don't know what parks you'll be visiting, or what your tastes in theming are.
