Can you really walk from Blizzard Beach to DTD?

We are planning on spending a morning at BB, and I was hoping we could have lunch at DTD, shop a bit, and then catch a bus back to our resort. Can we ( me, dh and ds7) just walk over?

It looks awfully close on the maps I have, but I have never been there, so I'm hoping for some good advice!

Thanks!

Hi,
Distances can be deceiving, especially when WDW maps are concerned,lol...

Typhoon Lagoon is much closer to DTD than Blizzard Beach is, is that the park you're talking about?

Hopefully someone else can help you further on whether or not it's technically possible (or permissible) to walk to DTD from TL. (personally, I wouldn't due to the high volume of traffic on Buena Vista Dr., at the DTD area)

I'm not sure if the busses go from the water park to DTD. If not, you could hop on one to Saratoga, then be able to walk from there to DTD. All that shouldn't take too long.

Have a great trip:)

No, you can't really walk from BB to DTD. In fact there are very few places where you can walk from one park to another location at Disney. Other than being able to walk around the EPCOT resort area, and walk from the contemporary to the MK and from the Poly to the TTC, there are not many other places where you can walk. It is not as close as it looks on a map, and the place is not really built for walking.

I wouldn't recommend doing much walking at all at WDW. There are no many sidewalks and drivers aren't looking for pedestrians. You would need to take a bus to a resort and then to DTD.

Blizzard Beach is a good couple of miles from Down Town Disney. However, Typhoon Lagoon isn't terribly far. Still, I wouldn't recommend walking even that short distance. There are no sidewalks and the road is very heavily traveled - often at high speeds.

Thanks to everyone for all your replies. I was just trying to fit a little exercise in. I'm afraid we are going to be riding everywhere, but I guess we'll just have to do all our walking in the parks!

It does sound like we can use Disney transportation to make the trip from BB or TL to DTD, so I'll just build in some extra travel time (who knows, it sounds like it will be shorter!), into our plans.

Thanks, Again!

Getting from BB to DTD involves catchinga bus first to a resort and then catching the DTD bus.

Assuming you meant Typhoon Lagoon --

Although they are across the street, it is not walkable. The entry/exit road to Typhoon is VERY narrow, and buses zip right through. Plus, Buena Vista Drive does not have a cross walk, and is very dangerous to cross.

If you do want to walk, I suggest taking the bus to Saratoga Springs, and then walking to DTD from there. (Alternativly, you can stay on the bus, and it will continue onto DTD.)

Thanks for the clarification. I did mean Typhoon Lagoon. I suspect we will just stay on the bus. My dh would be less than thrilled if we got off the bus and then it passed us!

This sounds like a great plan... Thanks!

Usually there not even looking at other cars let alone pedestrians! :confused3

Not advisable. Cars have a hard time avoiding each other down there.
