We will be in WDW in three weeks can you really swim... should I pack the bathing suites??

Yes! We were there last January with DH when he had a short business trip. The first night we had to wear winter coats, but the next day we had on short sleeves and capris. We did get one chance to swim. It was a little chilly, but there are days when it can work for you. And there is always the hot tub too! In fact, a friend called my cell phone from home to tell me school had been cancelled at home due to ice. We were in the hot tub celebrating that DD didn't even miss school when we were in Disney! Pack the suit! You never know!

Absolutely pack the suit! Just remember to pack a coverup and sandals to get you from the pool to your room; it's the long walk back when you're wet that can be a bit CHILLY:lmao:

You just never know. We went in Jan 2007 and it was chilly for a few days and then almost hot for another few days.
We're leaving in a few days and hope to be able to use the bathing suits!

We're leaving tomorrow and I know DD is counting on being able to swim at the pools at Pop. Supposedly it'll be in the 80's this week, so it's a definite possibility.

I think it depends on you cold tolerance! We live here so I would say HECK NO! But I had my cousin out last week and she was in tank tops and shorts while we were in jeans and sweatshirts...so maybe, maybe not! Have fun!

Yes.

1. On New Years day at least in one place (Boston), people, some just in Speedo's, swim at least for a few seconds.

2. The chances are better than 50:50 that there will be at least one day in any seven day stretch in January that the air temperature at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon (whichever is not being refurbished) will be at least in the mid 70's F. for several hours.

Yes, pack those suits! We were there in January two years ago and went swimming in the HEATED pools. Chilly when you get out but if the kids see the pool they are going to want to go in it even if it is a bit cooler out. Just there in December and was in the 80s! Pack for every occasion though. I brought the swim stuff and shorts along with the hats and jackets and used them both.

Yes! We swam on our last two January trips. The temps can vary - we had a few really warm days and a couple of chilly days. The pools are heated, and kids don't seem bothered by a little chill.

Since you'll be there 3 weeks, I say pack them for sure! Chances are at least one or two days there will be nice enough to swim. Florida's winters vary from day to day. One day it can be in the 40's and the next it's in the 70's or even 80's.

We were there this time last January for Marathon Weekend, and we spent a lot of time in the pool. After a long walk/run, the pool was heavenly, so was the hot tub.

IMO whether or not you would swim depends on where you are from!! The pools are heated but not that warm. I live in TX and we just don't swim if the pool doesn't feel like bath water! We tried swimming at WL last Jan and were all too cold, even my dd who is a swim fanatic. It was warm out but the water was just not warm enough for us.

Now, if you are from the North then likely you will think it feels awesome!!

This is soo true! We went on our honeymoon in March of 2000 and we thought those northern people were nuts! I don't swim unless it is hot! We are in Texas too! :goodvibes

we stayed at Pop in Jan. 08 and yes my kids swam every single night and they loved it so I say pack the swimsuits.

We are from PA so it was nice weather for us to swim in.
