can you purchase dining plan without a package?

Hi,
We received a pin for a room only percent off. We'd like to do this to upgrade to a deluxe, however I'm wondering if this would prevent us from being able to purchase the dining plan? Is there any way to purchase the dining plan, without having a package (as I assume I won't be considered to have a package since our room will be seperate from our tickets???) TIA!

You can purchase the dinning plan, but you do have to have a package. You will still get the discount, but you will have to add at least a 1 day ticket for each person in your party. If you do this, take that ticket after you enter the park and upgrade it to how many days you want. Or just save the ticket for a future trip. A one day ticket never expires.

You can buy dining plans with a room discount PIN. You will need to make it a package, however, and that requires at least a 1-day base MYW ticket. (Unless someone in the room is an annual pass holder).

The only way to purchase the dining plan without having to buy tickets is to stay at a DVC resort on points or have an AP and book an AP + Dine package; otherwise, in order to get the dining plan, you have to buy at least a 1 day base ticket for everyone in the room. But you can turn your current ressie into a package by adding tickets and DDP and still keep your room discount .

Thanks so much!! We are planning to get tickets, I just wasn't sure if it'd qualify as a package or if I'd have to do it seperately to get the room only discount. Thanks again!

you book your room with the discount and add the tickets at the same time and the meal plan
you can't book a room and then buy tickest some where else like a retailer then add the plan
I have read that happening
someone got their room and the tickets from under cover tourist and couldn't understand why they couldn't add the dining.

If your discount is applicable to a package, you will be able to do it with a package including dining. If it isn't applicable to a package, you'll need to give it up to get dining. Most room discounts out now appear to be applicable to package reservations, but if you already have a room-only reservation, you will need to cancel it and rebook it as a package to get dining. Be cautious if the offer you used has expired.
