As an example, a funnel cake with powder sugar st Oasis Canteen is $4.99 or a snack credit.....if you want the one with ice cream that is $6.19, can you use your snack credit then pay the extra $1.20?

Sorry, but no you cannot. You either use the snack credit for the powder sugar or you pay full price OOP for the ice cream one.

I'm under the impression that, with recent changes, the funnel cake with ice cream is now a snack credit.

OMG, that would be awesome! Not that I'm against actually paying for it, LOL. I googled the Oasis Cantina menu, so it might have been an old picture that didn't show the snack credit symbol.

Keep in mind that these were never independently confirmed by Disney and some people have reported the same items being treated differently at different locations. But this report at TouringPlans.com specifically says that funnel cake with ice cream is now a single snack credit.

"All items that were considered snacks, but had an additional option at a separate price, such as toppings, sauces, etc. For example, funnel cake with ice cream or a pretzel with cheese sauce." WHOOHOO!!! Thank you!!

As supersnoop said, be aware that this is not true at EVERY location. easywdw.com has reported it is very different at the different parks and locations, so you may have to do some more research and/or check the different places by foot.
