So I know you can only transfer up to $1000 onto one gift card. (Needless to say our Disney resort costs more than that). Is there a way to pay for the amount using gift cards? I know when I went to buy park tickets they only allowed one gift card.
Are you allowed to pay for so much of your resort. And then come back later with another gift card and pay more?

Thanks for the help, if I use gift cards I don't pay the extra fee my cc charges for the conversion. (And yes I know I could get a US cc but I don't wanna :) )

EDIT: Can you pay for your resort before you get there? lol, just noticed that I don't even know where to go to do that!

Yes you can. You can transfer several onto one card until you get to 1000 and then do 1000 increments at one time. You can also just apply 50.00 cards many times. Paying for a resort doesnt have a limit. It never has when I have done it many times.

Awesome, so silly question but where do I pay? I feel like it should be obvious on MDE but I'm missing it (and it's probably right in front of me)

For a room only resort reservation, the remaining balance is due at time of check-in. If you check in online before you arrive, you will not be able to pay the balance with gift card. You will need to pay in person when you arrive if you want to pay by gift card. At that time, you can pay with as many gift cards as you want.

You can also call in your payment in advance if you like. I do that myself. You can use the online check-in then, but it will still want a credit card to tie to your accont.

So I can call in before hand and pay a portion of my balance with gift cards? (This is a room only reservation)

Yup! They have no problems with you using your gift cards to pay over the phone. I’ve done it many a time and for room only reservations. But if you do want to do online check in they’ll still want a credit card to tie to your file for future purchases.

All of the above aligns with my experience. I applied several gift cards each time I called in, had my room+dining plan reservation paid off six weeks before I arrived, all 5% off from buying Disney gift cards with Target Red card at Target. (But yeah, could only use two gift cards when I called to buy park tickets.)

You have to pay the day before check out day. If you give a cc and then go on check out day to pay by gc they will have already charged your cc and wont reverse.

We always pay our room off with GC's before check-in and then will stop in the lobby every 2-3 days to payoff all of our room charges up to that point with our GCs. This way nothing ever gets charged to our CC on file and I also get a printout so I can quickly check for any errors.

You are correct in that a RO balance is due at check-in but that does not mean you cannot pay it off ahead of time, even if you do online check-in.
