Curious if they will let you park at Contemporary if you plan to eat at one of the restaurants that doesn't require a reservation and then watch fireworks in public viewing area?

My brother tried to meet his wife to eat at Contempo Cafe (think that's the name-- the Contemporary QS) and he was not allowed to park at the Contemporary. He had to park at TTC. They were onsite, so it wasn't like he was trying to get out of paying parking.

We had to provide the confirmation number for our dining reservation before being allowed to park at the Contemporary. This was not during peak season either.

I don't think it has anything to do with paying for parking, really - it's about making sure that people paying to stay at the resort are able to park there. I have read reports here on the DIS of cars being towed from the Contemporary's lot. It's super easy to get to the Contemporary from the TTC - just hop on the resort monorail.

I thought I also heard recently that they are beefing up security and being more strict about who they let into the resorts--really checking for resort reserves or ADRs and being more thorough in their looking cars over. Don't usually have a car when I go, but I had one in May and didn't really have an issue, but I heard that things will get tougher.

The only restaurant that doesn't need ADRs is the Contemporary Cafe. Probably best to just park at the TTC and use the monorail.

Nothing against OP asking but glad to hear they do try to limit. A few years ago we were at Poly, could not find a stop to park because of luau- know that's different but glad they are trying to stop as we are at Contemporary next month and will have car and be driving to some parks.

Honestly, in this day and age, they shouldn't let you park at any resort without a hotel reservation at that resort or unless you provide proof of an ADR.

I've started renting a car more often than not lately. I've driven to a bunch of resort meals. When I get to the security point, I've said I have an ADR. Every single time I've been asked for my MB. I like to say I have an ADR before giving them the MB (which I fully expect them to do), just to see if they do ask for it each time. I think that they may be tightening up on the non-resort guest parking. Now, if they could do something about those who have breakfast at Chef Mickey's, for instance, and then head to MK for the day.

We parked at CR during late afternoon in later January (not as busy). We told the parking attendant we just wanted to have a look around the resort and get a drink. He asked to see a driver's license and we were let in with no problem at all.
