Can you park at any resort?

DH & I are planning to visit all of the resorts at Christmas time, some to see decorations and some for dinner. Since we are not overly fond of the WDW transportation services we are renting a car. Can we park at the resorts, since we are DVC members and will be staying at SSR? Does this become an issue?

Being a DVC member doesn't really have any bearing--other than the free valet parking at some resorts. All WDW guests (on site or otherwise) can visit any resort they wish.

You'll meet a guard as you enter each resort. Just tell him/her that you want to tour the resort and maybe grab a bite to eat. Most likely you'll be given a 3-hour parking pass since they don't want theme park guests abandoning their cars at hotels for the entire day. I'm sure the guards are quite familiar with this happening during the holiday season.

One tip--rather than driving, hit all of the monorail resorts at once by taking a bus to the MK or parking at the TTC.

Thanks, tjkraz, we were planning the monorail route! That's the only transportation that we really like. The buses can get to be a real pain on the outer routes, ie. SSR, DTD, etc.

DVC membership gets you no special parking priviledges (except free valet parking at BWV, VWL & BCV).

There is no charge to park at the resorts, but you may be denied entrance if it is busy or given a 3 to 4 hour parking pass. This would be for any resort except SSR (because you are staying there). Most often, the parking passes are given for the monorail hotels and the EPCOT resorts. Disney does not want people to park there if they are going to the parks - it makes it difficult for the resort guests to find a parking place.

Anyway, yes, you can park at the resorts, subject to whatever limitations may in force when you arrive. I do not think you will have a problem. Enjoy the decorations!
