Can you pack for 7days in a carryon?

Okay after reading this, I'm going to unpack some of my stuff. I think I overpacked. We have two HUGE and I mean HUGE suitcases filled to the brim for five days.

Could I? Absolutely. Could DH and DD10? Not a chance. I call them my pretty pretty princesses. I suppose I shouldn't really complain it's nice having a DH that can "Dress" however who needs 6 pairs of shoes for WDW, I mean seriously that's just nuts, Then they have their "what if?" pile , you know what if I lose something go somewhere spill on all my stuff... the reasons those 2 can come up with for packing more stuff is amazing.
I don't mind doing laundry on trip ao for Me 2 pair shorts 1 pants 3 socks 3 undies 1 bra 3 tops 1 pair of shoes tolietries raincoat ( I hate ponchos)and my park bag and water bottle and then the full outfit I wore on plane including a fleece jacket. You also get a second personal bag to carry on and this would hold electronics and purse stuff and plane stuff.

I did 5 weeks in Europe in a carryon.

That said, the only time I have ever had lost luggage was when I was carrying a pretty large carryon. They actually told us when we checked in that we should carry all our luggage on rather than checking it. The problem was we were in the last boarding group and the plane was out of space. They took my bag, which was the biggest at 22 inches, and gate checked it. Fortunately it arrived the next day, but I have checked bags ever since.

It can be done... I packed for 23 days in Moscow in a carry-on. Choose your clothing carefully, choose things that mix and match, and prepare to do laundry or at least wash things out in the sink.

IMHO, the biggest issue is going to be toiletries. With TSA requirements, you can only take a certain amount per bag. Everyone might need to take their own travel-size bottle of shampoo versus taking one big one for the family.

Wear your bulkiest items on your travel days. Some items of clothes can probably be worn more than once, and if you can wash, you should be fine.

I used to have to fly to Mexico a lot for business. The way my connecting flight was timed, if I had to go claim bags I would miss the next flight. So it was carry on only.

The trick is buy toiletries and laundry soap there. Take one light jacket and wear it on the plane. Flip flops can be packed but wear your gym shoes. Keep the clothes lightweight and mix and match.

We haven't checked luggage since the airline lost our luggage on our honeymoon 17 years ago ! We were at WDW in May for 8 days and our family (Me (40) DH (43) DS (10) and DS (5)) travelled with 3 small wheeled carryons. I had a very small purse - big enough for tickets, passports, wallet and tylenol. DH carried the small camera bag and DSs had a small backpack with a book for everyone, their puzzle books, a favorite stuffed animal each and their electronic games. We do not do laundry while we're on vacation. I am very low maintenance - I wash my hair in the shower in the morning, throw it into a ponytail and go - no hairdryers etc for me ! Basically, it's all in the packing. I stack outfits for the boys - shorts, shirt, undies and socks - roll them up together as tight as I can, stuff them in the bottom of a gallon sized zipper bag. I can get about 2 days worth into a bag for each of them. Then, I suck the air out of the bag - vaccuum works well, or a straw, zip it shut and toss it in the bag.
We wear our running shoes on the plane and pack a light pair of sandals. Swimsuits and jammies take up very little room. We even had room for souvies ! It can be done, it just takes a little planning !
It's also very freeing to grab your bag at MCO, head to car rentals and be in the parking lot before others even have their bags at baggage claim !
