I understand the kids meals at BOG don't come with a cupcake rather a cookie for dessert so to avoid a potential meltdown can I order an adult meal for my youngest dd so she'll get a cupcake like everyone else (thinking the Croque Monsieur?

My understanding is that they no longer differentiate between adult & child credits so you shouldn't have a problem.

This was a rumored change to the plan, but the 2016 brochure still states that children MUST order from a child's menu where one is available, so I wouldn't count on it. Does that mean you can't do it? No, you might be able to, but I wouldn't assume it will happen.

Now, what is written in the brochure is that you can exchange your adult dessert or drink option for a snack item. If there is an adult who is okay with drinking water, they could exchange their drink entitlement for an extra cupcake for your daughter, and she still gets her cookie too!

Or you could just ask the CM when you get there. They may allow it just so your day can be that much more magical.

Alternatively, if it were my child and all else failed, I would eat my child's cookie and allow them to have my cupcake to avoid a meltdown.

I agree with the above poster. Never hurts to ask when you get there. And if it comes down to it, I'd give up my cupcake to avoid a meltdown. Or you could always pay OOP just for the cupcake.:flower:

But you don't have to give up your cupcake or pay OOP. You just have to give up your soda or coffee and drink water.

I never heard of that as an option (before this thread), but I suspect, like many things else, it will vary by CM. Never hurts to ask though.

It's documented with the 2016 dining plan, so it might vary until everyone is trained.

in 2013, we had no problem at all to do it. every took from the adult menus (we preordered our food)

Well I preordered our meal and ended up ordering 5 adult meals so we will see what happens when we check in, if the CM allows it. If not I'll just get her the kids meal and use a snack credit for her cupcake. She wouldn't want mine because it's lemon and I REALLY want to try it.:flower:
