We're going to Orlando with another family in Feb'07 , and they didn't want to stay on-site so we're booking a house for 10 days. It will be our first trip off-site, kind of bummed but looking to vacationing with another family in the world. My question is, I'd like to order a mickey waffle iron prior to our vacation so I can make Mickey waffles for bkfst, as I know due to their buget restraints we probably won't do too many meals out. Any ideas. I was sure I saw it in these boards before. Thanks for any help. :wave2:

OK, never mind, I found a whole bunch on-line, best price for a 4 slice 4", or a single 6" mickey waffle is at VillaWare for $44.99. Now does anyone know if you have to use a certain waffle mix , or can I use the recipe on the Pancake box? I want to bring this down on our trip, and not let the kids know, so I can't try it out prior to leaving. Thanks.

There's also Mickey pancakes... three touching pancakes in the pan. No special griddle needed. ;)

I don't see it on their web site, but I could swear I saw a Mickey waffle iron in Target not too long ago. Or maybe it was Wal-Mart.

OK, I did some searching through DIS archives and I found the post I had read, and it had the link for the mix they use at the parks that makes them so sweet and yummy. If anyone is interested, goldenmalted.com. The OP that I read, had asked the chef at Trails End I believe at FW. and he directed her to the store to buy it and there's a webpage to order on-line. And what a bonus, they delilver to Canada. I'll let everyone know how they taste. Thanks.

The gift shop at the contemporary sells them I think a cute specialty food store as well.

OT: Just a tip from someone who has traveled with lots of family before, make sure you plan for "alone-family-time." It's very important! It can make or break a vacation if you don't have rules about that. Luckily, my cousin's (the ones that are on my 'do-travel-with' list) are very understanding about that and feel the same way I do and it's literally kept us all vacationing together!

Have fun! :)

BTW...Target and JCPenny have the waffle iron. Just saw one at JCPenny an hour ago. They also have the Disney smoothie maker and ice cream maker.

Harmony, thanks for the tip about "alone family time". Never thought about it! The family we're traveling with are my daughter's best friend's family. Me & the other Mom have known each other since we were pregnant in the OB/GYN's office together. And we've hit it off the last 9 years, and chummed around more this year. The youngest 2 are also in Gr. 1 together, and pretty inseparable. There's also their 12 y.o DD who we have to make sure not to leave out. Being this is our 3rd trip and their 1st trip, I'm sure there will be things they want to do that we really don't want to do, and vice versa. Thanks again for the tip :wave2:
