My local grocery has hungry jack pancake mix on sale. And there's a "peelie" coupon on the front of the box for 55 cents.

I stocked up!!

Does anyone know if you can make pizza crust out of it? I need to buy pizza crust mix and it seems like it would be most of the same ingredients......wouldn't it?

I said if anyone would know, it would be someone on the budget board.:thumbsup2

It would be sweet, and it doesn't have yeast.

I have a recipe for Pizza crust using Bisquick. I would think they are pretty close. Here it is, and I hope it works for you:

1 1/2 cups bisquick
1/3 cup very hot water.

Mix together until a soft dough forms. Press into Pizza pan. Prebake for a crispy crust, or top and bake for a more doughy crust. for Bake at 425 for 12minutes.

Ummmm, I think that using pancake mix for a pizza crust would be a bit of a stretch. But perhaps if you just added milk a little at a time, you would get a dough consistency. :confused3 Pancakes have a little leavening in them - baking powder or soda. But there would be a little sugar in them as well.

Guess it would be worth a try once.

I haven't tried it yet --

however, if anyone is interested, on the Hungry Jack website, they say all kinds of recipes you can use Hungry Jack in. They provide recipes for biscuits and cobblers and things I never thought of.

DH said when he was in boyscouts and they went camping, they used pancake mix for a pizza in a skillet. He doesn't remember how.....
