Can you help with gift ideas for 16 year old girls?

Well, in my jewelry box I have a beautiful initial necklace, silver with a K, that a boy gave me when I was a teen. I still have it 15+ years later. I still wear it, and my students think it's very pretty and my girls ask where they can get one!

I think something jewelry...a necklace or bracelet...would be lovely. It says, "I'm thinking of you" without being as personal as bath products.

Thank you ALL so very much for the wonderful ideas! He's been reading these and taking each suggestion very seriously. Several of you suggested some things that he was thinking about so that helped him out realizing that he was on the right track. It's also very helpful having the same aged people chiming in with their suggestions! :goodvibes I also think we have a new member! Since he got so many replies so quickly, he's now going to poll you guys when he needs input! :lmao: Thank you all again--I can always count on the people on the DIS!!!:worship:

The first thought I had was Vera Bradley, but I see several people already beat me to that suggestion! I have a daughter who is almost 16 and one who is 13and they LOVE VB.

My 16yo DD loves keychains. Seriously, they all have 10+ on their lanyards with their car keys. She loves hats: fedoras, stocking caps(the crazier the better), etc. Same with socks--knee highs, bright colors, crazy patterns, even mismatched. Bath & Body works is good, too.
Vera Bradley isn't "in" everywhere.

I was going to say this too. My DD15 wouldn't be interested in anything Vera Bradley. But loves those biggy fuzzy hats with the ear flaps, crazy knee highs, animal backpacks (like the ones that would look like it's for a lil kid), lil kid lunch boxes and crazy keychains.

Your son knows these girls. What kinds of things does he think they would like? For my daughters b-day, a boy gave her about 20 paks of gum. . .anybody that knows her, knows that she always has gum. . .so it was perfect! :thumbsup2

Victoria Secret has all of their gift sets on sale in the store right now!
My girls (age 15 & 16) love all of them!
My girls said if you are getting Vera Bradley they would like a jewerly case or make-up bag.

well, I was going to go the more affordable route and suggest he burn CD's of their favorite songs or songs they all listen to, have memories of from football games, parties etc., then they can play those in the car or wherever. How about he decorates a stocking for each of them and fills it with their fave's? Walgreens has the sparkly/ glitter/sequin type that are fun. How about a build a Bear where he leaves a fun message about their driving , the date/place they got their license? There are a lot of animals to choose from. At 16 my DD's group was heavy into board games, there are some really fun ones out. My DS is 16 and the first thing out of his mouth was "Paintball certificate". lol...that kid LOVES paintball and the few girls who do play are nuts about it too, expensive tho.
Pillow pets are huge across the board, and these are friends, not "girl"friends, right?$30 total or each? Because if they have boyfriends he may not want to outshine what they may be giving,;)

Our D is 16, has no idea who Vera Bradley is, so that might be regional. I'd go with the fuzzy socks (Old Navy was doing 2 for $5), movie tickets with candy, CD or keychains. I couldn't tell you why they need so many keychains, but they are BIG among D and friends.

I just got my husbands niece who is 16 a pair of silver earrings with her monogram intials and an intial monogram decal for the back of her car! We live in the south and these are both big hits right now with teenagers.

Vera Bradley id cases with keychain holder are popular here. Other ideas........... cute scarf, gift cards for fave restaurants, itunes cards, gift card for mani/pedi. These are all things my dd17 likes.

That's what I was going to suggest... can't quickly find a pic online, but my 16-yo dd has a Vera Bradley that is a keychain, has a clear pocket on one side for her DL and then it holds her money. she carries this mostly as opposed to carrying her purse everywhere... whenever she drives, she knows she has her ID and some cash since it's all together! :thumbsup2

Coach keychains are always popular. They have several cute ones in the $38 range, or you can try the outlet. Get a gift receipt in case they want to exchange it.
