Can you help me think this thru: AP vs. MYW for DH?

My older DS and I have APs that expire in February. My DH does not, since he didn't go on our second trip, and I can't decide whether to spring for an AP for him or not.

I know we need to spend somewhere around 11 days in the parks for it to be cost effective. This December, we will be spending 9 days in the parks, for sure. There are two days when I am making quick stops over to MK with my older DS (seeing Spectro) or younger DS (first haircut, which we want to do on a non-MK day so as to not waste valuable ride time in line there). It would be nice if DH could participate in these, but not enough to use a day of his tix or necessarily worth springing for an AP either.

We are unsure if we have another trip coming this year. We'd really like to go to MNSSHP next October during DS's school break but, as you can see from my ticker, we're having another baby in February and the idea seems ... exhausting right now though once I recover from planning this trip, maybe I will see things in a different light.

One con I can think of: DH said maybe he could take a trip with just DS and himself if he got an AP. Uh, I don't think so, he is not leaving me alone with a 2-yr-old and a newborn to go to Disney! :earseek:

There are pros and cons that I am sure I am missing. Any insight into what would be best? Is it really just a toss up at this point? Anything I am blatantly missing in my analysis? Thanks for any advice!

Look at the math again. When I was looking at AP's or MYW tickets for my niece we went with the new MYW tickets. I don't think the break even point is 8 or 9 days anymore. We have AP's but for our niece I bought the 10 day MYW park hopping ticket for a little over $200. An AP is over $400. This is one of the reasons why I think this will be our last year that we buy AP's. It's just so much cheaper getting the MYW tickets. Maine :firefight

I did do the math before I posted this, though I was off by one day - the breakeven point on the AP is about 12 visits. The 10-day MYW ticket with parkhopping and no expiration is $340 through ticketmania or $34/visit. I guess the expiration option is arguable. AP costs $420.68, so 12 visits costs around $35 per visit.

Thanks for the advice. Anyone else? Thanks again!
