Can you help a newbie?

I love taking pictures and I really want to improve the quality. I have a Canon A85 and I cannot locate the book that came with the camera. I have read a lot about the settings. I have scrolled through the menu and tried to figure out where to make this adjustment, but I can't!

Can anyone help me through this process?
