Can you have two resort reservations for the same time period?

Good morning,

My family is planning on a trip this July and we are trying to decide between a value and deluxe resort. Typically we do value resorts but this year I expect to get a bonus in May. If I get the bonus, we would like to do a deluxe. If not, we want to do a value. Since free dining has to be booked by February, I won't know by that time. So my question is, can I have two reservations for the same time period or will Disney cancel one? If I could do two, I could book both and then cancel one of them in May once I find out about my bonus.

You can have multiple reservations.

Hmm...well....I just did this, with a split stay and had them overlapping. I kept having trouble with my reservations on my Disney experience website. A reservation specialist told me it was because some of my days were overlapping. So I ultimately made the decision to change them so they did not overlap. So not sure if this was true, but I wound up fixing it so there was no overlapping.

I would say just do it and see what happens.
