Can You Have Halloween with Hyperspace Mountain?

Hey all,

I'm planning a trip with a friend for next year and I really love Disneyland during HalloweenTime, but I have a question. Is there a time in September you can visit Disneyland and partake in the Halloween festivities but still be able to experience Hyperspace Mountain? I ask because my friend is a big Star Wars nut and I'd like him to see Hyperspace over Ghost Galaxy. But I really don't want to miss the HalloweenTime festivities or Mickey's Halloween Party. What about Haunted Mansion Holiday?

Is there a way to have your cake and eat it to if you stay during a specific week or two in September? Or does both The Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain go down at exactly the same time to put on their Halloween overlays? I would assume Haunted Mansion would go down earlier than Space as it needs more time to redress everything. So that's why I'm wondering if there's a sweet spot you can go when you are able to experience Haunted Mansion Holiday, Hyperspace Mountain, HalloweenTime, and Mickey's Halloween Party. Or is it really just a one or the other cut-dry scenario?

Thanks in advance for any information you guys can dig up for me regarding this! :)

There is no indication that HSM will still be around by Sept of next year. In the past, HMH and SMGG have both opened on the first official day of Halloween. The switch to SMGG takes about 3 days, if they don't add an additional refurb to the changeover.

I'm sure someone else will jump in here with more specifics, but here are my thoughts. If I remember correctly, the halloween party doesn't start at the same time Halloween Time in general does. I think there's something like a 2-week gap after Halloween Time starts before the first party takes place. Ghost Galaxy would be up and running by the first day of Halloween Time. So if you wanted to arrive before Hyperspace goes down and stay long enough to attend a Halloween party, I think you'd be looking at a very long trip. If you didn't care about the halloween party and just wanted to experience Halloween Time in general, then it would be much more manageable because I believe SM only needs to go down for a few days to change the overlay, so you would want to time your visit so that you catch the last day of Hyperspace and stick around for a few days until Halloween Time officially starts.

I don't know if you're set on September, but I think you could accomplish your goals more easily by visiting at the end of Halloween Time rather than the beginning. That way you could catch the last Halloween party and just wait a few days for Space Mountain to come back online. But I don't know if anyone knows for sure if Hyperspace is sticking around indefinitely (until SW Land opens) or if they will be switching back to regular Space Mountain at some point, so that would be a bit of a risk if you visit after Halloween Time.

This. I wouldn't advise anyone who is planning a trip for HSM wait until next Sept to arrive.

As already stated, you can do 3 out of your 4 picks during Halloween Time (usually starts around the 2nd weekend in September and runs through 10/31): HMH, Halloween Time, and MHP. MHP usually starts the last Friday in September and runs through Halloween (17 party dates this year and last). If you really want HSM, assuming it is still around by then, then you'll need to visit before September, just to be safe. HM goes down around the end of the third week of August. SMGG requires a much shorter down time, usually 3 or 4 days. If HSM really is the priority here, you'd be better off visiting sooner than later so that you can be sure the ride still has the version you want.
