Can you go FT/PT during your program?

I was wondering if a FT/PT job opened up that you were interested in during your program, would you be able to apply for it and potentially get that role? I've already graduated college, and I figured if something FT/PT opened up while I was on my program I might as well apply for that instead of waiting until the end of my program, if that was a possibility. Thanks guys!

You have to wait until the end of your program to apply for FT/PT

My son was offered a FT job after he completed his PI and was doing his CP. He was able to accept the FT offer. He had been accepted into the Fall Advantage when he was offered the PI for the summer. They allowed him to do the PI for the summer and extended his CP to the Fall position instead of Fall Advantage. But right after he completed his PI, they wanted him to come on full time with them. It took about three weeks to make it happen, so they told him to do the CP until they got the paperwork completed. He had to move out of the CP housing as soon as he signed the FT offer, so he had to find housing pretty quickly.

From what I understand, you can only accept a FT/PT offer if you're on an extension, but I could be wrong.

You can apply up to 6 weeks before your CP ends, but you will not be able to move into the position until your program is over.

PIs are a little different, if your area supports it, you can end your PI early; I left my PI 2 weeks early.
