The rustic, U.S. National Park theme of the Wilderness Lodge continues into this attractive dining establishment. The intoxicating aroma of cedar wafts among the impressive expanse of fat ponderosa pine columns, lofty ceilings, Old West murals, and forest green slate floors. Oversized windows peer out on sparkling views of Bay Lake and the hotels enchanting courtyard of giant boulders and cascading waterfalls; on pleasant days tables spill out to a picturesque terrace. The lovely decor takes a backseat to the Pacific Northwest cuisine of fresh seafood flown in daily, and the menus game meats and fish are smoked on the premises. Choose the house specialty of cedar plank Alaskan King salmon paired with a bottle of Pacific Northwest wine finished with an fresh berry cobbler topped with sour cream drizzle and vanilla bean ice cream.
Tip: If arriving before dark, ask for a view of Bay Lake. After dark request the knockout view of the illuminated courtyard waterfall. Take a post-dinner walk through the property to the edge of Bay Lake and wait for the geyser to erupt (every half-hour); its quite a show.
