Can we do both a water park and a park on the same day if we don't buy hopper passes? Can anyone explain this to me? I'm trying to save the extra $50 or $100 per person. Thanks!

If you get the "waterparks & more" option, yes, you may do both a major park and waterpark on the same day. You would use one park admission and one plus admission on that day. As far as I know, you could do a park, both waterparks and Disney Quest all in the same day using one park admission and three plus admissions if you were so inclined.

You can't use two park admissions on the same day. People who want to go to two parks the same day (MK, AK, HS, or Epcot) need park hopper tickets. Otherwise, park hoppers are not required.

Adding the waterparks & more option to your ticket is $53 per person and you get as many plus admissions as you have days on your park ticket.

If you only want to go to a waterpark once, it is cheaper to just buy a separate ticket to the waterpark.

Yes you can. The waterparks require separate tickets either individual or with a water park and more option on your MYW pass.

So could we do Epcot in the morning, Blizzard Beach in the afternoon then go back to Epcot at night? This ticket biz is sooooo confusing!

Yes. You can do this. You'll need a separate water park ticket, or the plus option. If you wanted to do Epcot in the morning, and a different park at night, then you would also need a Park Hopper.

exactly. BUT if you are only planning to go to the waterparks ONCE it is cheaper to just buy admission to the waterpark at the gate. IMHO The only way the "plus" is worth anything is if you do a "plus" activity every day of your trip.

EPCOT and a waterpark in the same day is fairly ambitious by the way. We were totally whipped after a day at the waterpark.

Not sure I understand - If I'm only paying $50 extra for the Waterpark Plus feature, it would save me money even if only went to the waterparks or Disney Quest twice or more, right?

A day at a waterpark and dinner are an all day wipe out for us, too. We stay til closing because it is just too much fun for us to leave. We use that day to go to bed early and catch up on sleep for getting up early the next morning.

You can save up the plus options for a day you are not going to the theme parks.

Example: Three day ticket with water park fun (with or without hopping).

Day 1 -- Magic Kingdom
Day 2 -- Blizzard Beach and Disney Quest
Day 3 -- Epcot
Day 4 -- Animal Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon

By the time you use two of the plus options, the water park fun has earned its keep.

This post includes the assumption you have a ten day MYW ticket with both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More (WPF&M) options.

Hopefully this will make it a little clearer. In effect you have two tickets with different priveleges on one card. Everything expires 14 days after first use unless you have the no-expire (NE) option. If you have the NE option all the entitlements are good until they are used up. Even if you use up all your major park days, the WPF&M entries remain valid until used. (Note you do not have to use the days consecutively.)

You have ten days of access to the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK), and may visit more than one major park on a single day without any extra charges. Without the Park Hopper option you can only go to one major park per day.

You have ten entries to the minor parks (BB, DQ, OT, TL, WWS). These may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. However, if you went to TL in the morning, Oak Trail* in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening of one day you would have used three of the ten entries. (Note that leaving and returning to the same minor park on the same day does not use an extra entry.)

If you go to minor parks only on one day and do not go to a major park you do not use up one of your major park days.

If you were to go to a Water Park in the morning and then one of the major parks for the remainder of the day you would have used one minor park entry and one day of major park entry.

Note that with the MYW ticket unless you have the hopper option you can only go to one major park per day. Unless you have the WPF&M option you cannot go to a minor park without upgrading or purchasing a separate ticket.

*Oak Trail is a nine-hole "Executive" walking (no carts) golf course. Each person must have thier own set of clubs and they can be rented for $15 per person if they don't bring their own.

Thanks for the info! I was just confused by the poster who said I'd have to to to the minor parks every day to get my money's worth when it looked to me like I'd be ahead as long as I visited 2 minors parks or more during my stay, right?

Yes. If you plan at least 2 minor park visits, you've paid less by adding the Water Parks Fun & More option rather than paying separately.

And when you are talking about repeat trips and longer stays, AND talking about the "and mores" - non-expiration starts to look good. Non-expiration isn't much of a deal anymore for just hoppers, but when you can use that non-expriation PLUS out five years - long after the original park tickets have been used, its a deal.
