We really are looking for a simple ceremony for just us and our two children. No guests. No reception. Was thinking about staying at port orleans and doing a carriage ride and getting a photographer and hiring an officiant. Would this be possible? Any other ideas besides the memories Disney package? thanks for your help!

It's possible but not allowed nor recommended as Disney doesn't approve and could ask you to leave.

The memories package is a great option as is the basic package at the Swan and Dolphin (http://justmarry.com/all-inclusives/)!

If you have any military or government connection, Shades of Green has a package for less than $1,000. :thumbsup2

Me and DH did this, and it cost only $125 to rent the gazebo (SOG is right across the street from the Poly) Very small and intimate ceremony, it was perfect! If you have ANY government connection (best friend, acquaintance, military aunt/uncle/cousin, you get the picture) you can go this route, you just have to pay for a night's stay for the "sponsor" (and the sponsor has to be there). It's a lovely resort too, nice and quiet if you want to spend the night there yourself. We literally walked from our floor-level balcony to the Gazebo, it was so nice not to feel rushed, or worry about getting to my wedding venue by other means of transportation. You can also pretty much choose what time you want to have your ceremony, you don't have to have a "set time" like WDW weddings. Me and DH had a sunrise wedding around 6:15 am  It was really nice, we got to celebrate ALL DAY!!:banana:

I'm thinking now you might have to purchase a package, (we just rented the gazebo and got our own officiant) now since it's gotten more popular...but still very inexpensive!

Actually, the way you did it is definitely still an option and one I should have mentioned. :thumbsup2 I think the package is just there for convenience when people want an all-in-one wedding. But SOG also does a la carte pricing of all its ceremony and reception locations, so the OP could do like you two and just rent the gazebo.

We just got back from our SOG wedding. They are kind of quiet about the fact that you can pay a la carte. I did not find out about that option until after I signed for the package. If you can avoid the package deal I would highly recommend a la carte. Will not go into my reasons here (if anyone does want to know just send me a message)
