Can you get free ice water at CS?

My family tends to get dehydrated in the FL heat and we usually get ice water in addition to our counter meal. Since the ice water is free, can I make sure they don't try to make it a bottled water and charge us a snack credit?

Just ask for a CUP of ice water and you should have no problem.

Yep, I second that! Ask for a "cup of ice water" or just an "ice water" and everyone at the CS restaurants knows what you mean. I go in every hour when it's hot, even if that's all I want to order. I have never had a cast member blink an eye, even if I'm standing in line at places like Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's during a busy time. In fact, everyone seems happy to oblige.
Staying hydrated is the key to WDW in the summer time.

FYI - it is a SMALL cup of ice water. The kid's meal size, so you will need to get them often if you are there in the heat of summer.

At Pecos Bill's and Casey's, I was given LARGE waters. Most of the time it was a large cup of water, but those I remember specifically. It's free though, so order as many as you need to quench your thirst.

Last time I went to Hollywood Studios with some friends of mine they asked for some ice water at the ABC Commissary and they got it without any problems.

We go every August and are always given large cups of ice water. Maybe we just look extra thirsty, lol.

i can't remember where i was, but one place even said to me, "do you want ice water? save your snack credit?" so yes, you can get it at most places and they are more than happy to give it to you. i always received large size too.

the only places you can't get it are the carts.

My family does this all the time even when not dining you can get ice water (free) it gets very hot in the summer and fall and Disney is very good at accomodating their guests.

It's actually not Disney being accomodating, they don't have a choice (they have to provide water for free by law at kiosks and CS places.)

We were given large cups last week at every place we asked. Another tip, before you leave a sit down place, ask for a to go water from there too. We drank it shortly after leaving the restaurant and saved us buying a bottled water. BTW, I'm picky about water and I thought it tasted FINE!
