As others have said, Disney restaurants, for the most part don't do Take Out.
Take out dining questions are becoming as ubiquitous as the "can my 30 year old picky eater DS/D order off the children's menu?" question. What's up with that?
Most of the restaurants don't have boxes to take anything to go...
Yes. I remember doing to go boxes when we did dinner and were going back to the room afterward. I think this was in Epcot. I didn't do them everywhere, because it would be cumbersome to lug boxes around the parks, and I think that's why we don't see it as often, but they do have them! This is absolutely false. As someone with a very small appetite, I never eat all my food and have gotten to go boxes from pretty much every restaurant in WDW.

people are trying to work out how to keep everyone happy and keep costs down.
I'm not disputing the fact most restaurants at WDW won't do TO GO orders, rather that they don't have BOXES. Yes, they do have boxes for their patrons to take left overs out of the restaurant. While what you say is true, getting a box for leftovers is an entirely different animal than getting a to-to order. To-go orders totally bog a kitchen down, while you boxing up your own leftovers after having your server bring a box with your check has no effect on a slammed kitchen.
So yeah...while SOME do have to-go boxes, there are very good reasons they don't offer meals to-go. Rusty listed several above.
I'm not interested in take out dinner. My husband wants to try a dish there and I didn't want to use our table dinner on that restaurant but we will just buy the dish he wants to tryTake out dining questions are becoming as ubiquitous as the "can my 30 year old picky eater DS/D order off the children's menu?" question. Thank you! This is the first time we are going to WDW and I'm still learning. Your answer was so helpful. You don't have to use a credit. You can pay cash for the meal. If the rest of the family doesn't want to eat a full meal, you can just have a coke or something to keep him company.
