Does anyone know if they will do an early checkin if its for a wedding there? We would be staying at the Beach Club Villas

Sorry, you are welcome to try however I had a horrible time trying to get in early. We got to the hotel at 2pm and our room wasn't ready until 5pm! I was livid. Most of our guests had their rooms long before me. They insisted that it didn't matter if we were a wedding party or not and they were also unwilling to move us to another room without charging us more. You would think it wouldn't be an issue given the amount of money we spent but alas we weren't special enough.

Things got much better in the days after!

You can always ask but you can't plan on it. We did get our room and well as that of our friends around 12 but our second room, which was concierge wasn't ready until mid afternoon

In our experience, DVC rooms quite often are not ready until the 4pm check-in time, particularly over at BCV. You might need to ask your planner about getting a 'getting ready room', just in case!

Can you do a late checkout?

We had a late checkout for the room DH was staying in the before the wedding. They could only give us an extra hour, which was all we needed, and DH said that as the guys were leaving the room 45 minutes into that extra house housekeeping was waiting on the otherside of the door to get in already. We were staying at the Boardwalk Villas.

Your least stressful option would be to ask your planner to get you a getting ready room - I think Disney is charging $500 for them now, but I'm not sure if that rate has gone up recently or not.

As a travel professional I find that sometimes it is necessary to contact the hotel manager direct prior to your day of arrival.

Last summer I sent a fax to the resort 3 days before we arrived for the wedding asking if they could accomodate a few special requests. I was very polite and told them I understood if my requests were not possible. The next day the assistant manager called me to discuss the requets.

She was able to make sure we got the Grand Villa we needed early in the morning by assigning us a villa which was empty the night before. She was also able to give us rooms on the same floor as the grand villa so our guests were convenient. Not to mention she assisted the kids with some special things for their room as well.

Had I not had this conversation with her our rooms would have been assigned at the time our guests arrived at the resort.

It also helps if they know you have stayed with them on previous occassions!
