I thought I somebody said that you could get a monty cristo sandwich in the MK. I have checked the menus at allearsnet.com and can't find it listed.

Can I get one in the parks, or do I have to drive to Bennigan's?

thanks,
Trena

I don't remember there being a Monte Cristo at WDW MK but there is a place in Disneyland's MK called the Blue Bayou and they have it. It's pretty well known out there, and the BB is always packed. We were just there in Feb and the place was booked solid.

I think you'll have to go to Bennagins or Olivia's at OKW. :earsboy:

Grilled Monte Cristo - parmesan encrusted sandwich with ham, turkey and bacon with Swiss, mozzarella and American cheese. Served with marinara sauce and french fries $11.49
(from Allearsnet.com)

At Olivia's at Disney's Old Key West Resort.

As said above, Bennigan's is probably the only other place to get it around Disney.

Enjoy!

Sadly, nothing can top the Blue Bayou's Monte Cristo (in CA)....all the others are just poor imitations. I think we went to the Blue Bayou three times during our last Disneyland trip!! On a related note, I would LOVE to have the Blue Bayou in WDW (awesome ambience, good food), but that's never going to happen b/c the theming of Pirates is totally different in FL than CA (the CA version kicks the butt of the FL version just FYI) :( :(

There did used to be a wonderful monte cristo in MK, a long long time ago, and like everything else wonderful..Disney takes it away.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will plan on going to Bennigans. The description of the sandwich at Olivia's just doesn't sound as good as the one at Bennigans. I'll be happy with that since I've never been to DL or Blue Bayou so I don't know what I'm missing.

thanks guys!

Yes, the old Town Square restaurant[before it became Tony's Town Square] had a wonderful Monte Christo. I had it back in 1974 on our honeymoon. I have never had one as good as that one since, and believe me I have tried.

The Disney recipe was in the Disney Magazine a few years ago. The sandwich at Olivia's might be tasty, but it is nothing like the Monte they serve at DLR...which is one delightful treat:earsboy:

There is a brasserie in the France pavillion that offers it. It is behind Les Chefs De France, near the entrance to the Bistro de Paris. It's right outside the souvenirs de Paris store. There are tables outside and I commented to my DH that I wouldn't mind trying that in the future for a light quick bite. It was dinnertime and people were eating there.
