Can you extend ap's if you received child free

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew if you could extend your A.P,if you sponsor other Ap's, if you had received a free ap for under 7 when you initially got your A.P? I'm not sure if taking advantage of the free ap for under 7 exludes you from extending your AP for free if you sponsor others.
