I have a question about the baby swap. We're going w/our 5 y/o, 2 y/o and 1 y/o. Can we use the baby swap in this way:

dh and dd ride, I wait w/ds and baby, then dh and dd get off ride, stay w/baby and I ride w/ds?

Thanks!

Yes! You do not have to go directly back on, you can use the pass the rest of the day. You have to show up as an entire group to get the swap pass. If it is a fast pass atraction, you will only need 2 fastpasses to get on the ride.

Yes is the simple answer.

Here's the more complicated version...

There is not a baby swap for any ride without a height restriction. I.e., if there is no height restriction, any child can ride, including infants. So, a baby swap option is not offered.

For rides with a baby swap, you can take up to four (or five? I can't remember) with you. So, your DH, DD, and DS could ride while you wait with the baby, and then you could ride with DD and DS while your DH waits with the baby. So, your DD and DS will get to ride some rides twice (my older DD loved this!).

In reality, if your baby can't ride due to height restrictions, unless your DS is really tall for his age, he probably won't be able to ride either.

Here is a handy height requirement calculator - with your kids' heights, you can see what they can and can't ride...

Oh my gosh, thanks! I'm starting to feel like I'm planning to go into battle!:)

Yep.

Keep in mind if both kiddos are tall enough for the ride, then they can ride twice.

I.e. your dd wouln't have to wait with dad. She could ride again.

FWIW, we have done rider swaps on rides that do not have height restrictions before. I think it was Toy Story Mania. On that one, it is more due to the roughness of the ride and though an infant can ride it, they don't make you take the infant on. We have even done rider swap on the raceway at MK. I was pregnant and could not ride. And the kids outnumbered the seats in the car. So they did a rider swap AND they also did a driver swap. So DH went 2 rounds with 2 kids....the birthday boy stayed in the car and sis 1 switched with sis 2...then he went 2 rounds again. On the 2nd of each round, brother swapped with sis so that each sis had a turn driving. In reality--I was the one that could not ride and my "chaperones" were the ones swapping.

LOL! I like your description! It does kind of feel like that.

Look at it this way - just having a plan and the knowledge of how things work will help you and your family have a better vacation, making the most of your time and money. That is really the goal.

Have a great trip!

Sometimes, even at Disney, parents get sick of their children. Disney has instituted a system where you can "swap" kids with another family for a few hours. :rotfl:

When using your Baby Pass you can take 3 people with you. We used one a dozen times this weekend and it was fantastic! Only one adult had to sit out each time and the kids were able to ride twice back to back. They loved it
