Can you explain rope drop at AK...

Ok, I'm a little panicked here. My ds has autism, and I thought we would try AK this time without the DAS. He needed the DAS for our other trip (definitely needed), but I thought well AK is a level 2 on TouringPlans, we'll be fine... And we will, for everything but Pandora. Ugh. Like right now on MDWE the waits are 145. My ds totally cannot do that.

Touring Plans says, for the day we're going, that times on Pandora will be low the day we're going (like literally, 30 minutes in the morning). But they've been lowballing, severely lowballing, FOP times every day when I've been checking this week. So my original plan had been to FP everything else, get there early (rope drop) and be fine. Now I'm really concerned.

So when you go in early like that, where is the Guest Relations desk (which is where we'd get the DAS) in relation to where they rope drop? When we were there in January, we never made it to AK. If we get there early, like in that window where they let people in through security but not past a certain point, would we be able to go to Guest Relations, get the DAS, and then make it back to the rest of our party and go on our merry way?

And then a corollary question, if the posted standby wait times are that long, how long is the FP que? FEA had long standby waits like that, and the line was long, really long, even when you were in the FP. Is Pandora like that?

1. So when you go in early like that, where is the Guest Relations desk (which is where we'd get the DAS)
2. in relation to where they rope drop?

1. All the way to the left of the main entrance gates. The window is outside the gates.
It will be open by 7:30AM, before the gates are opened.
If you wait until you go inside the park, Guest Relations is in the same place,
but just on the inside of the main gates.

2. The rope drop(s) can be far, far deeper into the actual park.

If you are headed to Pandora, the rope drop will be deep into the pathway
that leads to Pandora (That path is accessed as you arrive at Pizzafari Restaurant.)

When we went on FOP August 21 the posted wait time was close to three hours. It took us about 30 min total from when we entered the fastpass line to when we walked through the exit of the ride.

Ok, I'm taking a deep breath here, so keep talking to me. So the real, legit, standby wait was *3 hours* but the FP line, start to finish, was 30 minutes? Wow. Now THAT we can do.

Literally, my ds was like let's just skip it. Even an hour like we did for FEA (which was not worth it, not for him, not for that hard a wait) was too much. But if 30 minutes with the DAS is worst case scenario, then we're AWESOME. So we will just slow down, cool our jets, and DAS it. Awesome, fab.

Thanks!!
