Can you eat with Diego?

My son is a huge Go Diego Go fan. Is there a way to meet him like a character meal or such outside of going into Universal for a day?

My dd would love this. She loves Diego. Does he actually appear in the park? A meal would be fantastic though.

I believe he makes an appearance in Universal Studios somewhere. I was just hoping to find him outside the park somewhere too.
