Can you do the math?

I am taking advantage of the Kids play free deal for our Sept. trip. I understand that the tickets hold thier value and can be upgraded to non expiring, as if we paid for them. We will have 2 child and 2 adult 4 day passes. What would be the cost to upgrade the tickets to 10 day non expiring passes? What if I added water parks? We are hoping to visit after our cruise, so the ticket upgrade makes sense I think...just need to convince DH:) Thanks for your help!

1098.00 for the four day ph
2286 10 day ph/water and no expiration
2070 10 day ph and no expiration.

Wow...thanks! That is more than I expected! Does that include the credit for the tickets we already have? Maybe I can't convince DH...I cna't even convince myself:)

Let me add that for the annual pass it would be $2021 for all 4 of you too.

I am so DENSE when it comes to Disney math!

I don't understand what you mean by this... (sorry - not your fault, I know!)

Do you mean if she buys an AP for all 4 of them the price will be $2021?
If so, she would take the "free" tx for the kids, upgrade the 2 tx she will buy for the adults, and the total cost will be $2021? How does that compare with just buying an AP (without an upgrade)?

Now - it seems like a great deal to me - but what am I missing? How does this benefit her (or not) over "Kids Stay Free" pkg? I'm assuming she'll return w/in the year for the AP to make sense. And I get that she will not have to purchase the non-expiry option with the AP.

What I never realized before reading this is that the PH option must be about $70/pp/pd? Again - Disney math is not my strong suit, so please correct me where I'm wrong. Never bought PH's before, but was considering it for this trip. Will definitely reconsider if that's the case... (I never actually broke down the per day cost of the various tx options - is there a site or a link somewhere to view this easily?) Would this PH, WP&M, etc) be cheaper with the AP? I've gone to the WDW site - but they don't really spell out advantages/disadvantages of anything! How's the average Joe s'posed to figure this all out? (By asking people like you, of course!)

I just don't get the big picture! How is it possible to figure out the best option for your family? MYW Tx vs PH vs NE vs WP&M vs who knows what else is out there?!? I feel like Linda Blair!!! Add in the various upgrade scenarios and my mind goes blank... Plus, I've recently started reading a thread about "Adding the Platinum Plan for Just One Day" - and now I'm over the top maxed out of brain cells to compute!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I know it must seem very basic to you - but I'm baffled.

BTW - I did read thru CF's very informative stickey on TX (more than once, I might add) - but I think I'm missing the nuances. Just need it spelled for me, I guess.:teacher:

I think I pay the difference between the cost of the annual pass and the price I will be credited for my 4, 4 day passes (about $900 or so) I have played with the tickets using Disney's site and putting different ticket scenerios to compare what will work best for our family. It seems like the price difference is similar for us to add 6 days non expiring with water parks, whcih would equal 11 park visits, or the annual pass. Now to decide what, if anything, we will do.

Gretchen - it's actually simpler than you are probably thinking. You pay the difference between the ticket you have and the ticket (or AP) you want.

It's really just a matter of looking at the pricing chart and seeing what your tickets are worth and what the new tickets cost, and calculating the difference. Then you can figure out different choices and which one is the best deal for you.

Hopping costs a flat $55. Same with the water parks & more option.

Adding non-expiration, the prices vary based on the length of the ticket.

The key thing is not to buy a ticket with a gate value that is HIGHER than the Annual Pass that you want, because it is highly unlikely that any refund will be given.
