Can you do Baby Swap on Soarin?

We have never been on Soarin and we are heading down next week. I have a 2 3/4 year old who we're not sure is ready for Soarin. I would like to go on with my daughter and leave my toddler with my husband and younger son. Then when it's over, if I think my toddler can't handle it, swap so hubby and other son can ride.

We've done this on other rides but I wasn't sure how Soarin was set up. Can we do this? I don't really want to wait on line twice.

Have any of you taken a younger child on?

Jenny

In April we were able to do a baby swap. The CM gave us a baby swap pass that allowed us to go on with up to three people after riding the first time. It's like a fastpass.

Whether or not you think your two year old is ready for Soarin', he's not. There's a height restriction. Its actually a great place to baby swap because its inside and right next to the food court! :teeth:

Depends on how tall the child is :) I think the height for Soarin is 40". My DS was 40" before he was 3!

I read the height reststriction is 42". Do all of the rides have baby swap? Where do you get the passes? Before you get on the ride? Is there a waiting area for the baby swap (like at Universal) or does the little one have to wait on line with the other adult as well? I guess I need someone to explain to me how this works at Disney. I will be traveling with a 5 year old, 18 month old, and another adult. The 5 year old LOVES thrill rides, and I want to be able to take her on a few - Soarin', TOT (her favorite), Splash Mountain (okay so maybe it's not a thrill ride) Space Mountain (if she is tall enough - depends which CM measures her and how they hold the stick (I know how tall she is. We just had a check-up).

You're probably right about the height requirement...like I said I wasn't sure :)

Most of the big rides have baby swap but they all handle it differently. You need to find the CM at the entrance of the ride and tell them you want to do baby swap. They'll tell you what you need to do. For Soarin' and Splash Mountain, they give you a fast pass type ticket for up to 3 people. One adult waits off the ride with the baby and another goes on. When they come off, the other adult can go on with 2 additional people if they want. (I also noticed on a few rides that the ticket expired a few days later so you don't need to use it right away) Space Mountain, we were told we all needed to wait on line with the baby too and wait at the end of the ride for the other adult to come off and then the second adult can go right on.

I know a few of the thrill rides have play areas for toddlers. Splash, Mission Space do and some of the others are right near snack bars, other tamer rides (ie Living with the Land), arcades or stores.

BTW, I just checked disneyworld.com has the height requirement as 40" :)

Can the first adult/big kid get a regular FastPass and use the baby swap pass for the second adult/big kid? I want DH to go on this SO badly, but he won't arrive at Epcot until his convention is done for the day. I doubt he'll get there in time to get his own Fast Pass, so I was hoping that DD and I could get them earlier in the day and wait until his arrival to use them. He would ride first with DD (using my FastPass) while I wait with DS, and then I was hoping to use the baby swap pass to let DD ride a second time with me. Will that work?

I didn't try that at Soarin' but that's exactly what we did on Splash Mtn and BTMRR. DH & DS got fast passes and used them while I waited with DD and then I took DS on with the baby swap ticket right after.

Stimpy,
Thanks for the info! I'm glad to hear Soarin' is 40" rather than 42"! My DD should be able to get on no matter who measures her!
