Hi, I went to SeaWorld for the first time since I was 10 (which was 1995) last year, but I didn't ride any rides. My hubby is interested in riding some of the rides when we go in Oct. I am sort of a ride wimp, so I was wondering if you could describe them to me compared to Disney rides.

I watched youtube videos of Journey to Atlantis and Manta and also read their descriptions on the seaworld website, but I could only tell so much from the videos. How is the drop on Journey to Atlantis compared to splash mountain? also, i couldn't tell much about the roller coaster portion (it was really dark on the video? How is this part compared to big thunder?

Now, Manta...Manta looked scary to me! :rotfl: But I didn't like how high up it looked...how is it compared to the hulk and rock n' roller coaster (I HATE those two, btw)? I have ridden the Superman roller coaster at six flags georgia which seems pretty similar (you are in a "flying" position like on manta). I was just wondering how that compares?

Those are the only rides I was curious about. Thanks for any info you can give me!! :)

Manta is the same ride as Superman Ultimate Flight at Six Flags over Georgia, the design and ride might be a little different but it's the same experience both designed by Bolliger and Mabillard.I've ridden both Superman and Manta and they both have the pretzel loop which in my opinion is the strongest part of the ride where you'll feel the highest G's,aside from that it's a fun ride different from most coasters out there. One thing that Manta and Sea World and Busch parks do great are elaborate queues as Manta's is full of aquariums full of Manta rays.Journey to Atlantis is a log flume style ride with the boats a little wider than say those of Splash Mountain and do have wheels on the bottom and the side.I honestly don't feel a huge difference in the drops of most water rides out there, and Journey to Atlantis is no exception. After the big drop the boat will go up another hill and go into what I call the Beetlejuice section of the ride because they play music that sounds like from the movie Beetlejuice. This is the beginning of the short coaster part where it essentially goes through a dark section at a slightly faster pace and then does a spiral drop and then a short rise into a water stop.Nothing major so don't expect a loop because it says it's a coaster section, but it is a fun little ending.
