Hi Everyone,

I am taking my 10 yr old son for a four day "Mom and Me" trip in June. We are staying at POR, on his request (he remembers the pool, when we used it during our stay at POFQ five years ago!).

He is looking forward to the hotel, swimming, and some of the rides the most. He is at that age when it is "not cool" to get autographs, so I think character interaction will be minimal. We are going to trade pins - he cannot wait for that (I bought him starter pins from EBay). Here is what we have planned.. could you give us your imput?

Day one - (Thurs)
Arrive from PVD around Noon
Check In POR
Hang by the Pool, lunch at POR
Boat to DTD
Bus to ASSp for the Pin Trading
Bus to DTD
Boat to POR

Day two
EMH MK
Leave lunchtime - POR for Rest
Dinner at Ohana
Back to MK until closing

Day three
EMH AK
Leave around 1130
Studios (Lunch at SciFi at 130)
Leave around 3
Rest at POR until 530-6.
Epcot for Illuminations

Day Four
Epcot until we feel like leaving
POR for rest
MGM until closing (EMH - stay until we feel like it)

Day Five
Just hang out at POR until time to go to the airport (2pm flight)

,,, this is the first time I have tried to "do Disney" in less than a week, and I don't want to cram too too much in. Yet, I want to make him feel like we did some special things.
Thanks!
Catrin

Hi Catrin,

Just one comment from me---it will be hard to get anything done at the Studios on day three. Lines for the big attractions will be huge by lunchtime and FPs will be, at best, for the late afternoon.

Other than that, looks great!! Enjoy!!

I think they are just going for lunch MGM.....

I think the key is to get there early and rest in between. Which you are doing....So good luck and have fun!

I know this questions is probably silly to people who know more about Disney, but this is our first trip....what is pin trading? Thanks! :confused3

to describe it as best as i can...it's sorta like a....CULT..lol
you buy PINS and save them....then you buy PINS and put them on your lanyard (what you wear around your neck) and when you see anyone else with a lanyard, you can give them ONE of yours for ONE of theirs...CM MUST Trade when approached...no matter what the pin.
It's an expensive and time consuming part of disney (isnt that redundant?)
but my MOM does it and loves it...so to each their own!! :rolleyes1

Thanks for the information! Sounds fun...we might have to get some pins and try it!
