Can You "Convert" CS Meals to Snacks on DDP?

I'm sure this has been asked - but I can't find it on the Search function, so I apologize in advance - but:

Can you take extra CS meals and convert them to snacks on the DDP?

If yes, is there a procedure that has to be done? (i.e., Guest Services?)

I'm not sure how this works, or if it can be done at all.

Thanks!

If you want to do this, basically the only way to do it is go to your resort's counter service area and ask how many snacks you can have for one CS. Reports have varied based on resorts; at some resorts it was 3 snacks, I remember a report about 5 snacks (!) but don't recall which resort, and Coronado Springs will only allow one snack. By most reports you will not be able to trade CS for snacks in the parks or in stores.

Thanks!

Which brings up another question...

Where do I go if I'm staying at the Beach Club? They don't really have a food court area....so not sure where I would go?

Beach Club has a counter service - it is the Marketplace in the lobby. It is also the resort store.

September 2010 the Pepper Market at CSR let us change 2 leftover CS meals to 3 snacks each (6 total). That was really nice as we didn't have time to sit and eat before the ME bus. Just grabbed danishes & cokes.

We have always been able to as well. Coronado Springs let us do three for each CS meal as well but All Star Movies let us do 2 snacks and a drink per CS Meal!

Thanks, everyone!

I didn't realize Beach Club has a counter service area - we've never stayed there before, but will be there in August. With as much planning as I've done, we've still ended up with 2 leftover CS credits - and we're really big into snacks. Especially snacks at Epcot!

This would be great if we can get extra snack credits and use them at the bakeries in Germany, Norway and France. (well, the Karmel shop in Germany!)

I've heard reports of being able to get 2 snacks and a drink for a CS credit at Main St. bakery too.

Yes, this you can do as the majority of the items at MSB would normally be considered a snack, for example pastries, cakes, cookies, chips, fruit .....

As long as at least one item is a beverage, you will have no problem with this.

As far as resorts are concerned we have had success but with varying stipulations as to what does and does not qualify. For example at WL they allowed any 3 snack items for a CS meal. At ASMu the following year it was the same. Last year at POFQ you could take 3 snacks but at least one had to be a beverage. Keep in mind that depending on the food court you are a lot more limited with your snack selection than you would be in a gift shop if you were redeeming actual snack credits and not trading up. I have started to learn with Disney .... and my approach is to ask and expect pretty much anything for an answer. If I don't like what I hear or believe the info I have been given to be inaccurate, I ask someone else.

From what I understand you cannot convert your CS into snacks for use in the shops like Karamel Kuche. You would need to go someplace that will actually accept CS credits as well as snacks and do the trade there.

You'll have to use your regular snack credits in Epcot countries.

Trade your CS for snacks at your resort...works there.

I had this same question about the Boardwalk Bakery - does anyone know if you can convert CS to snacks there?

While not an acutal conversion, the Patisserie will let you choose 2 pastries and a drink for a CS credit.

However, the Kringla Bakery in Norway was very strict with the CS credit. We chose a sandwich and a pastry, but said we didn't want a drink. The CM said we couldn't use a CS credit unless we included a drink so we added one. On a different occasion we asked if we could choose 2 pastries and a drink, but the Kringla wouldn't allow it.

This seems to be a standard policy when redeeming a CS credits for 'snack' type items. At least ONE item has to be a beverage. I suspect that any reports of different experiences on this are likely to be from some time back, but they definitely became far more strict on various aspects of the dining plans around late 2009/early 2010. The 'one item must be a drink' seems to be a standard condition now, when any variations to redeeming credits are allowed.

I have no problem with one item being a drink. We are staying at the BWI and I want to use some CS credits for breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery - I just did not want to use up 2-3 snack credits every morning then be stuck with extra CS credits. I wish the Epcot area resorts had a food court like the Value/Moderates.
