Can you check car seats at the parks?

i prefer the kids in car seats in cars. I was thinking of NOT renting a car and taking cabs to animal kingdom, Hollywood studios and maybe resort dinners. We will be staying at the poly. Is there a place at each park where we can leave the car seats?

There's no where to check them. I don't know if they'll fit in the lockers.

Keep in mind that renting a car would be cheaper than taking cabs everywhere.

Why not just take the bus? It would be a lot easier.

I don't think so. The only place to leave things are the rental lockers and they are not even close being big enough for anything like that. Why aren't you riding the monorail? Being on the monorail line why would you pay for transportation? IMHO paying for a cab and lugging car seats is not something I would deal with when you wouldn't need to. The car lots are a ways away from the front gates and car seats would be cumbersome to lug that far.
Others may have more info..but I'd forget the car seats and the cab and use the monorail and other Disney transportation...no car seats needed .

Personally, I would take the buses to the parks. If you have to take cabs to resorts, you can ask bell services to call a cab with car seats. We do this with DS7, but he only needs a booster at this point. If you really want to use your own car seats in cabs, I would only do it for going to the other resorts. You could then check them at bell services.

We are planning to use the monorails but we're exploring other options for animal kingdom and HS. I thought busses took forever? We need to get our 2 year old back for nap by 1. I figured if we were only going to do animal kingdom and hollywood studios for a day each or so the cabs wouldn't be too expensive? I checked prices on a rental car for the 2 weeks we will be there and it was $750! That's nice to know about cabs with car seats. We have time to figure out all the logistics. (we are doing lego land first for 2 nights so will probably get a rental for at least that time, but I think having a car just to sit in parking seems a bit ridiculous. There's a lot of other things to spend that money on!

I've never had an issue with the buses taking forever. I really recommend giving them a shot. I strongly prefer riding the bus to driving - it's just so much easier.

Round trip cab fare between the poly and DHS or AK will run you about $50 or so.

Skip the cabs and take the buses. It might take you can extra few minutes in the middle of the day, but the buses are great.

Take the bus, huge issues are pretty rare.

how does your child do with a 15 minute car ride at naptime? are you able to move child from car to house without waking? if child wakes up will s/he go back to sleep easily? just some things to think about with going back to resort for naptime. it did not work out well with 16 month old grandson

Will your 2 year old not nap in the stroller? I too would worry about him falling asleep on the way back, and then waking up and being cranky for the rest of the day.

I also agree with not using cabs, unless you are going to a dinner at another resort. Try to think of the buses as part of the experience.
