Can you charge things to your room if staying at GCH?

Can anyone tell me if you can make charges throughout the parks & downtown and have them charged to your room? We'll be staying onsite at GC. I know this is a nice convenience that we always take advantage of when we're at Disney World, but I wasn't sure if it worked the same way at Disney Land. Also, if you are allowed to charge on your room key, are there certain places that do not allow this??? Thanks for your help!

You can charge stuff to your room, just do not remember specifics. I know my wife uses it alot.

YES...yes you can and it is wonderful! Until you check out! HA HA!!!!

I am pretty sure you can charge everything in the park but the carts!

Don't forget you can have your items sent to the hotel directly from the store. It sure makes it nice not having to carry items with you or make a trip back to the room.

When you check in you will get a card key for every occupant of the room. The adult cards can be used to charge and the kids cards were limited to just entering the rooms.

I am pretty sure you can charge everything in the park but the carts!

I think most of (if not all) the food carts can charge back to the room... The only thing I can think of that you can't charge back to the room is the guy selling baloons!

I'm not sure about Downtown Disney... I think you can charge to the room at World of Disney, D Street and Studio 365... but everything else is a no go!

word of caution--a couple of years ago I lost my room key at WDW and reported it immediately to the resort and told them to cancel it. They didn't--and later than night someone charged over $500 in merchandise to my room!

I luckily didn't end up having to pay it but it made for a not fun time at the World--and I'm not sure the resort believed me.

Since then I never allow charges on the room key--
