Can you change the type of points used to book?

If I booked a trip for 2015 with my 2015 points, and then I decide to bank points from 2014 to my 2051 use year, can I change the points I used to book?

I have an OCT uy. Trip is in November 2015.

You will not be able to use future points while current points are still in your account. You can, however, bank your 2014 points (if your banking window is still open) before you make the November, 2015, reservation. Those banked points will be used first.

I just made the reservation this morning and used the 2015 points but still have points from this 2014 year that I have not banked yet (dont have to do it until end of may). The question is, since I booked it already with my 2015 points, can MS change the points used to the 2014 points if I bank them??

They can probably do anything which falls under the umbrella of "legal." Why not give them a call and find out? Let us know.

You will be able to switch banked points for any 2015 points in the reservation if, and only if, those points are for the same resort as the one you reserved at 11 months out, are in the same use year, and you do the switch before 30 days from date of arrival. If they are points for a different resort, you will be able to do the switch at 7 months out only if the reservation you have is separately available to any member at the time you want to do the switch.

Yes, call them back after you bank and get them to change the points that were used to fulfill your reservation. I've done it.

Yes, if you bank points after you have booked with current points, MS will change things around to free up the points.

Borrowing is a final transaction so if someone borrows points to book and then backs, you would not be able to reserve the borrowing and replace with banked points.

this is a good thing that disney does. i plan to reallocate points in a few weeks when some banked 2013 points on a new contract come available in two weeks or so.

Just be aware that you need to reallocate in advance. Within 30 days, you're subject to the holding-point rule, even for reallocations.
